As the book gets ready for release on June 1, 2026, you will find author’s clarifications here based on advance reader feedback and anticipated reader feedback. As the feedback grows, more questions will be added in the future.
Q1. Why is the migrant raging?
You have to read the book to find out but here’s a helpful description:
Raging refers to something violent, intense, uncontrolled, or furious, such as a storm, fire, or anger. It describes a high level of intensity or severity, often used to describe unruly natural elements, extreme emotions, or significant success.
A migrant is a person who moves away from their habitual place of residence, either across an international border or within a state, usually to find work, better living conditions, or for other personal reasons. Unlike refugees fleeing persecution, migrants often move voluntarily, though their journeys may be driven by economic, environmental, or family factors.
Q2. What other cover designs were explored? See below. Copilot and Gemini were employed. (AI was used for cover designs and summaries but not in the actual writing of the book.)

Q3. What are some norms that the author challenges with this work?
A. Most stories we grew up with (genre fiction) had two things in common: There are clear good guys and bad guys in the world. A wedding means climax/closure.
When I started writing the novel, I didn’t realize that challenging these norms would tip me from genre fiction into literary fiction. So, when you read the book, you will hopefully experience the tension between these two story modes.
Q4. Is there a sequel in the works?
A. Potentially, depending on how the first book is received.
